The 1st Walailak Research Convention (WRC 2022) will be held during March 28-29, 2022 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Walailak university. It aims to provide a leading international stage for researchers, experts, practitioners, and students to present, discuss, and share their knowledge and experiences under the theme “The Role of Higher Education in the Post Covid and Human Development”. It also provides various activities to enhance research capability on extending and developing stronger and sustainable research topics to serve society.

The 1st Walailak Research Convention 2022 is arranged into a number of academic conferences, seminars, and workshops, which is organized from the collaboration of 19 organizations including the Institute of Research and Innovation (IRI), the Centers of Excellence, and academic schools. As being a part of the 1st Walailak Research Convention 2022, School of Informatics and Informatic Innovation Center of Excellence (IICE) provide a virtual international seminar on the latest technologies and developments on Metaverse under the topic “Metaverse Frontier: Challenges and Trends (MFCT)”. The seminar will be held on March 29, 2022, 1 pm-5 pm.

The seminar aims to feature the latest in Metaverse from multidisciplinary topics including Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, high computing technology, Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), gaming, digital shopping, cryptocurrency, and Actual reality.
